What was announced
- An unmanned hybrid-electric vehicle platform for government and defense customers, launched under Harbinger Praesidia.
- Configurable with defense prime contractors for flat-deck logistics, field communications, troop transport, perimeter security and counter-UAS missions.
- In-Q-Tel, the strategic investor for the U.S. national security community and its allies, joined as a strategic investor.
- The launch follows Harbinger’s partnership with American Rheinmetall on robotics and uncrewed ground vehicles.
One U.S.-built chassis now serves delivery fleets, healthcare and defense.
Key takeaway
The platform
- Same chassis as Harbinger’s commercial trucks – three wheelbases (158, 178 and 208 in), 16,000–26,000 lb GVWR and payloads up to 18,000 lb.
- Series hybrid powertrain – 500+ miles of hybrid range and about 105 miles fully electric; refuel with gasoline, EV charging or both.
- Exportable power – up to 350 kW to external systems, including 48 kW continuous from the onboard generator and a 15 kW inverter for split-phase AC.
- Drive-by-wire with redundancy – steer-, brake- and accel-by-wire, a six-camera 360° view, and teleoperation via mesh radio (up to 5 km line-of-sight) or satellite.
- Mission features – Stealth Mode, remote operation of pallets, liftgates and power export, 65 mph top speed, 30%+ gradeability and operation from -30 °C to 55 °C and up to 12,000 ft.

Why it matters for fleets
The defense platform shares its chassis, battery, software and drive-by-wire systems with Harbinger’s commercial vehicles, all engineered and assembled in-house in the United States. For commercial and government fleet operators, it highlights the versatility and durability of the platform – long hybrid range, high exportable power and remote operation – and Harbinger’s commitment to domestic manufacturing.
